The range I work PT as an RO sponsors a winter rifle league. It is 10 weeks duration and covers 100/200/300yd distances. Open to all center fire rifles and the only real restriction is that it must be shot from a Front Bipod and soft rear bag. Week week is shot at a different distance and each week is a different target.

Today was Day One and is the only time we shoot as a group. After today we can shoot at our convenience, whenever the range is open, we allow one week prior and one week makeup with league approval.

This week unoffical score for myself is 168/200 with a 15 point penalty incurred for a misplaced shot. Also I had two errant shots onto my target from my neighbor.

This target is an IBS Offical 100yd Hunter Rifle Target. Shoot 20 rounds round robin for total 200 points possible. At the Commence Fire, shoot one round robin, unload rifle and make safe, then proceed to get up and touch the rear wall then repeat for four rounds total .

Well folks we are now at week 7 of 10. Last year the league had 17 shooter at the end. this year we started with 22 and are still at 22. The competition has also gotten steep. Last year there was a distinct break at 3 levels, The top 7, middle 5 and the bottom five. When I express a point break between groups it was over 100 points difference. This year we also added a new target and removed an old one. The new one is much more interesting to shoot.

So after 7 weeks the leader has posted a 1357/1400, 2nd 1333, 3rd 1327, 4th 1325, 5th 1296.
After two horrible weeks I sit at 14th with a 1020/1400

Week 4. Cold Bore. First two shot must be at the top left sub-target. that is before any fouler or sighter shots. Shot at 100 yards


Week 5. Shot at 200yds. inside the triple ring 10 points, outside the triple ring 5 points. Doubles and triple hits do not count. shooting at only numbers with red.


Week 6. Shot at 300yds. The fish must be shot from the weak side.


Week 7. Shot at 100yds. Snake, starting at the head the target dot must be hit before progressing to the next dot. Had a 15-20mph quartering wind last week.


Week 9. from last year. 300yds. breaking the yellow/green shot does not count!
