Just looked at Sportsmans and Cabelas. Most expensive powders were still under $60/lb.
Since Vista was bought by a czec firm and a notice went out that Alliant powder prices were going up, they now have started. Tried to post a pic of it but wont go thru. AR-Comp $89.99 at a local hardware store in MD area
Just looked at Sportsmans and Cabelas. Most expensive powders were still under $60/lb.
No nitrocellulose to make powder. Just wait till that hits the panic button.
I can see a small brick and mortar store selling singles for a little less than buying a pound on line.
If you combine orders like multiple powders and primers the cost per item goes down.
Maybe it's going away but AR-Comp in 1 lb jugs at PV is (including shipping and HAZMAT)
1 lb= $96 each
3 lb= $73 each
4 lb= $71 each
5 lb= $69 each
6 lb= $67 each
7 lb= $67 each
8 lb= $66 each
Midsouth has the 8lb jug of AR-Comp for $499 including shipping and HAZMAT.
That comes out to $63 per pound.
Grafs has the one pound jugs.
It seems like Alliant isn't even in existence to me lol. At least the powders I want are non-existent so the price doesn't matter.
The last time Reloader 16 was available on-line it was $458 for 8 lbs. I've never seen it available locally.
Midsouth is showing Reloader 16 in stock @ $464.99 for an 8 pounder, free hazmat started today. I bought an 8 pound jug of Unique for $352 and change, tax and shipping/hazmat included, no bargain but I haven't seen any Unique for sale in several years and I was running low.
It's better to shoot for the moon and hit the fencepost than to shoot for the fencepost and hit the ground!
Sportsman's has some Alliiant powders in stock, but, I have not seen Unique or 2400 since the pandemic started.
Remember that Hodgdon is the source of many of the other powders in the US, Hodgdon, IMR, Accurate, Win, Ramshot.
