I vote a “fantasy” on the part of someone.
Mods,
not sure if this is the correct forum, feel free to move if it is not.
Seen this on e bay.
I do not know much about the history of Savage advertising and was wondering if this is real, or reproduction, or just fake ?
Then
Anyone with Savage memorabilia, if you could start a thread, that would be interesting to view.
Thanks

They're fakes.
Basically there's a Chinese outfit cranking these out and a number of resellers on Ebay are listing them. There's probably a dozen or so variants depicting everything from Marilyn Monroe to Mickey Mouse and Yosimite Sam. They're all new production and aren't even copies of real signs from the past (Warner Bros, Disney, etc. never would have licensed their charactors to a gun company back in the day). Common sense applies here.
A few examples of these overpriced fictional "vintage" signs...
Lone Ranger
Mickey Mouse
Marilyn Monroe
Yosimite Sam
The ladies
And then there are a few based on actual vintage Savage ads or catalog images that at least look like they could be legit, but aren't...
There's probably more, but those are the one's I found on the first page with a quick search.
