Toothpaste....and I am not kidding.
Or...Blue Magic Metal Polish.
BUT...whatever you use, you MUST GET ALL OF THE COMPOUND OUT OF THE ACTION AND BOLT!!!!
Take the barrel off of the rifle and spray out with carb cleaner afterwards.
When I am opening the action and drawing the bolt back to extract the spent cartridge. The bolt sounds like its grinding sand and binds. I have cleaned the action and greased the areas of contact. Has anyone tried JB to polish the bolt lug channels or have any thought on what would make this smoother?

Never thought of using Toothpaste. It is abrasive
Mine was so bad I had to use 600 grit lapping compund followed by JB. Still not as nice as my Model 12's but a whole lot better.
Best solution would be to send it to SSS for a "Time and True" job, but that's $150.00 and waiting who knows how long to get your action back.
Like athe man said, be sure to get all of the polishing compund out of your action.
