    Savage M11, .223 Left Hand

I was looking for a left handed .223 bolt gun but here they are hard to find. I handled an Axis but it didn't quite feel right for me. Would have taken a CZ, Ruger or Savage and finally found a used M11. It has a no-name 3-9 scope and a one piece scope mount, that scope mount will have to go. Too hard to load with that in place. Initial accuracy is 1 to 1.25 inches at 100 yrds. I know that is not what some of you are getting but it might be me or I just haven't found a load it really likes. However my intent is a 150 yard varmint (groundhog to coyote) rifle so this is something I can work with. This is my first bolt gun with a plastic stock, so we'll see how well I can adapt.

Have a Model 10 and a Model 11, both in 223. The Model 10 shot very well with 69gr RMR bullet hand loads. The model 11 I shot it in a league last winter using 69gr Sierra Match King and right now I am working with the Hornady 60gr VMAX. Both will shoot 1/2moa to 300yds and the 11 will shoot 100yd clover leafs or 2 hole 3 shot groups.

Thanks for the info. Right now I'm just shooting 55gn ball ammo trying to get a feel for the rifle. If it is doing this well with cheap ammo I think it has real potential once I start reloading. Of course this means that once my bronze membership is processed for the site and I get some good pictures my left handed 110 in 270 will be listed.

For varmints in a .223 it's hard to beat the 50gr Nosler BT bullets. I did pick up a few boxes of their "newer" 50gr Varmageddon bullets, but I haven't gotten around to loading any up yet to see how they group. I still have 6-700 rounds loaded up with the 50gr BT's to shoot through so it may be a while.

I put these base mounts on mine as the rings I am using are a Picatinny style mount. The rings would not work with the Weaver Style bases. They also offer them for the round receiver, part # is 410615

I know the factory rings from my Axis XP fit the Weaver rail just fine.
