There is plenty of info answering Your question, but it doesn’t differentiate between bolt guns and Your Savage 99. Your best answer may be on the Texas Hunting Forum. You can decide how much to adjust the load safely to Your rifle. It’s easy enough to reduce a powder load, You just don’t want to reduce to the point of FLASH OVER/DETONATION.

    Yes
    Information is out there,
But what better place to ask for a Savage 99 load, than Savage Shooters?
I did get load recommendations from the "fire"
I will report it here after I get time to fire them in the next couple of weeks
And yes, 99 loads should usually stay away from max.
    Thanks

Shot some reloads today using Tac powder.
    Federal brass
    Cci 250 mag primer
    180 grn speer flat pt
    4 shot groups
    45 grns 2385 fps avg
    45.5 grns 2450 fps avg
    46 grns 2500 fps avg

Groups got tighter with each increase of powder.
Going to try 46.5 and possibly 47.
