Magpul Hunter for Savage 11 Hog Hunter

    Hello neighbors,

I have a model 11 Hog Hunter in 308 that I am mostly happy with. It is very accurate. Since I can't seem to stop tinkering I have been looking for a replacement stock for it.

The Magpul Hunter is advertised as designed for the 110 family. Does anyone know if my model 11 will fit? The added benefit of using detachable magazines appeals to me also.

I was all set to order the parts to convert my model 11 to a detachable magazine but then I saw this new stock.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Short answer is yea it will fit as long as your action screw spacing is 4.400”.

Longer answer is that if you have a bottom bolt release action you will no longer have a bolt release button due to the Magpul mag/trigger guard setup. Really only an issue when you need to remove the bolt for cleaning or storage, but a real pain in the *** none the less.
Instead there is a notch next to the trigger guard for you to insert a small pick or flathead screwdriver into so you can catch the hidden bolt release lever and try to slide it back while also squeezing the trigger and trying to remove the bolt.
A top bolt release action will work just fine.

Just as pdog said. However, does yours have a bottom bolt release? Weren’t the model 11 Hog Hunters done in both TBR & BBR?

Oh.. and just to give you frame of reference, mummy model 10 is a TBR…. But I only have 1-arm/hand to use. So I think it would STILL be easier for a2-handed person to use a little pick or mini screw driver to depress the tab & remove the bolt. Maybe one of these day, I’ll make a video showing how I remove the bolt. It’s comical!

Then yours should fit with no issues. They are a really nice stock for the cost, and allows you to do a huge upgrade in magazine systems.

Be sure to show us some pics when you get it together

Yeah… had a feeling. Think it’s only the newest ones that are BBR. Anyway… good deal.

I have tried the hog hunter in several different stocks including a laminate VLP. I really liked that combo. Yours looks great also. thanks for taking the time to show your pride and joy.
