    Switch Barrel 110s

This is a new project that I want to have some fun with. Bought a 110 in .30/06 and just bought a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel with dies and brass. I know about head space and bought the gauges. Anyone else do this?

Yeah, literally everyone is right. I’ve done so many I almost need new tools to do it

To me it’s almost as much fun as shooting them

I've only done a couple, but, will do more in the future. Do yourself a favor and get the action vise and barrel nut wrench from Northland.

It absolutely IS as much for me! I genuinely love building, working on these and just about any firearm. Honestly, the shooting without all this, would be the pretty boring. Especially punching paper. That is mind numbing boring! At least with the whole side of building one yourself, or repairing a faulty part, I have that “pat on the back”’kind of feeling when it does what it’s supposed to. LOL!

Yep. That’s what I use. Works much better than barrel blocks and won’t ruin the barrel finish or warp the action.

A few prefer this style below. The internal Lug Action Wrench. They are about the same price.. like $65. Not my fancy, but I’ve heard others swear by them. I’ll stick with the Wheeler/NSS style and also a Barrel vice. Barrel vices are a must if you do other fixerat’n & customicaterat’n on Pew-Pew’s.

When putting a different barrel on, do you recommend removing the ejector and extractor, or is it not necessary?

Not necessary. Some do it, some leave everything. Many of us, myself included, have done it both ways with equal results. It’s up to you.

I did it without stripping the bolt the first time. Second time I stripped it and it worked better for me as I could feel what it was doing better.

Either way works especially since you have the go/nogo gages.
