    Barrel brake in


    Just bought a mark ll What would be the proper way to break in this rifle?

    Buy some decent ammunition and just go shoot it.

    That's pretty much it.

    I like to run a dry patch through the barrel of any new gun to be sure the bore is clear and free of any shipping lube and I like to put a drop of gun oil on the bolt's cocking cam and the base of the bolt handle where it locks up but other wise just shoot it.

    For Christmas I received a MRK II 22LR BV.

    I did a complete cleaning of the bore, plus everything I could get to and clean. I was supprised at all the grease that was packed into the rifle.

    By all means, clean. Then when I fired, nothing but sheer joy.
