Is there any way to date this 12 ga? Has inlaid detail on stock Butt and forearm.

Does the serial number have a letter prefix?

There is only the 17YZ on the barrel and on the receiver.

You may have to remove the forearm and/or buttstock to find more information. Might pay a visit to Savage Singleshots, the admin there is somewhat of an expert on these.
