Action screw thread size?

The action screws on my Mark II are identical but what is the thread size. Parts list says contact the factory for new screws. Hope they are not orphans.

It's a 12-32 screw. Probably not something you find at a hardware store. Try calling Savage.

If that doesn't work, DIP sells 12-32 x 1" long Torx pan head screws. Cut 'em to length if needed. https://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail...18013&CAT=5627

Not total orphans, but darn near. I understand the factory are of poor quality and will strip. So, I was looking for aftermarket before I start bedding mine. Any other suppliers?

DIP claims that their screws are heat treated.

Tap them out to 1/4 -28 and be done with it.

Some Ace Hardware stores have 'gun screws' in their nut and bolt section. They may have 12-32 screws in that collection. I've only found 1 Ace in my area with the gun screw selection however. Try the older, larger hardwares.
