Savage 24 series S

I'm looking for a part for my Savage 24 Series S (S/N E209195). I'm not sure what the part is called but it's a plastic piece on forward of the trigger guard that you pull to release the break action. Mine is broken in half and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. I've called Savage directly and searched the internet with no luck. Attached is a picture. There is a hole in the part and there may have been a pin to hold it in place but if there was on I lost it when it broke. I have been unable to find a parts diagram for this series. The diagrams I find online all show the break lever on the top of the receiver. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ryan

That’s going to be a difficult part to track down. May have to look at having a custom piece made. Is it a flat piece, or is a curved over part with 2 sides? Hard to tell from the single photo. What’s it made of? 2-part epoxy may work to get it back together.
