    Striker internal box magazine?

I have a Striker action that came in 7-08 Rem that I tore down for a build that got back-burnered for a few years. I want to put an Axis 350 Legend barrel on it, but was wondering if the magazine will feed the smaller cartridge. The 350L is just a hair larger than 223.

Other thought was the new 400 Legend that has a .422" case head. Does anyone make a bolthead in that size for the Striker?

Very likely you’ll need a magazine back stop. Look at the picture in this article and you’ll see what I mean. Bit of modification to the follower. I believe the springs are the same. https://www.savageshooters.com/conte...Feed-Magazines

And you can grab a 223 front baffle.(although it’s not necessary.)

The .308 size mags won't feed a .223 size cartridge no matter what you do to it. The .223 has a narrower box to begin with. Finding a stagger feed box will be hard enough to find, but I just happen to have one for a Striker.

That’s very kind… I’d take sharpshooter up on his offer of gifting you that part.

Well, not given to that it’s a part I would most certainly give to someone in need, regardless, it’s against the rules to offer something for sale outside of the classifieds. So it just made sense to me it was being offered. Perhaps I assumed incorrectly in which case I’m sure it will get worked out.

Thanks for the 411 y'all. I didn't think the existing mag box would work but thought it worth an ask. If I go forward with the 350L I will ring you sharpshooter, but I wouldn't expect something for nothing. Any thoughs on the 400L in the existing mag box, and whether a bolt face exists in .422"?

I can open up a .223 bolt head to .425, I've done it several times for Valkyries and 6.8 Rem. I have made those work in a center feed .223 mag, but I have never tried them in a stagger feed mag.
