    Polish the bolt?

Anyone have any pictures or walk through on how to take the bolt apart and how and how and what to polish to make the bolt smoother?

    Bit easier. https://www.savageshooters.com/conte...y-Instructions

As for polishing, there’s no science. People polish all kinds of things. The inside of the bolt sleeve, the high points of the firing pin that ride along the inside of the bolt sleeve, the head circumference of the cocking piece pin. And also the inner edges of the bolt sleeve ramp that the cocking piece pin rides along.

I didn’t really go crazy polishing. Little ramp work(smoothing that “nub” at the top of the ramp). And just removed any overly rough sections, raised metal or flashing bits, etc.

Polish the firing pin spring on the ends, inside and out. Take about .008" - .010" off the outside diameter. This will give you the most happiness.

I just realized this was an AXIS thread. Please disregard unless you have older savage 110 models
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
