    Question about 6.5-284 Norma

A friend of mine recently aquired a Model 12 F-Class rifle in 6.5-284 Norma and he asked me to help him get set up to reload for it. I've looked and read a lot (well, what I could find anyway) about this round. Mainly, I'm curious about the 2 versions of the round. I looked up both on the Hodgdon load data website and noticed more data is available for the non-Norma version. Would it be acceptable to use the load data from the non-Norma version to load for the Norma rifle? If not, that's fine, I just have no experience with this round at all and I'm trying to find out as much info as possible to help him out.

Any shooters with experience reloading this round, I would welcome any information please.

Thanks for the information in advance!!!

Yes, you can use either set of load data.

With the ever present reminder that all loads need to be worked up for any given rifle.

Mine prefers H-4831sc and 139 gr Lapua Scenars. Berger 140 gr VLD's are a close 2nd.

    I'm using Lapua brass.

Thank you! That's good news, I kind of figured you could but I thought I should at least ask someone who owns one to make sure.
I always work up loads from lowest listed data on every rifle I have. My friend has not reloaded before and I have no experience with this particular caliber (I mostly reload 308 & 6.5CM rifle and most pistol calibers). He currently has no supplies (other than what I will help him with to get started). He is still trying to decide if he is going to sell this, or keep it.....If he decides to sell it, I may end up with it (which is also the reason for me asking about this caliber), plus....I'm a sucker for nice rifles..lol
