Can't identify my new Savage rifle. 1913 serial number on a take-down .300

I did a trade this week on a mystery Savage .300 rifle. I took a number of pics. Didn't see an "Identify Forum".

*On barrel there is no Model number/type stamp. ~ 24" barrel length ~ The only PAT'D stamping is: May 25 1909 & June 01 1909
*Serial number: 141,5XX =1913 date. Yet earliest year for .300 Savage market introduction was 1920?

*Serial number is only on bottom of barrel. There is no other number(s) stamped elsewhere. The Buttplate and Buttstock both show a stamping of: 'S' & '22'.
*Straight Gripstock with a Schnable fore grip. No engravings on stock or body.
*Receiver has both Brass oblong & Pin indicators
~Could this have once been part of a: .300-.410 set?

The reasons why I selected this rifle is that I'm drawn towards any Take-Down rifles and older Lever Actions. My favorite set of rifles is a pair of Hotchkiss 45-70's. Please feel free to direct me in any more appropriate Forum for this. Nico

I've been looking all over for instructions on how to download pics. No matter what I write in the 'Search' box, ie: picture download, how to download, etc; nothing is coming up. I could use some directions. I take it you use an off site storage as I cannot download the pictures needed directly from my personal laptop (am not a techno individual. It's called: Dislexia). Thanks for any/all assistance Nico

Do you see the menu bar directly above the text box (where you type)? Second from far right is the "Insert Image" icon, click and go.

I wonder if it’s been re barreld? Perhaps an old 303 that’s been rebarreled to 300 savage?

    That’s my guess as well.

Sounds like it's been rebarreled. Probably aftermarket, though the Savage factory would do it as well. No serial number on the forearm, buttstock or buttplate might argue for a factory rework if they are all stamped with S22.

A straight stock with takedown in 1913 would limit the original model to be one of: 1899A, 1899A SR, 1899H. But if the stock and barrel has been replaced, you'd need to letter it to find out how it left the factory since most models only differed by stock and barrel differences.
