New to Savage!!

Hey guys, I recently purchased a Savage Axis II XP Hardwood 22" barrel, here in CA. It is going to be a range plinker, big brother to my little Rossi RS22. It's fun, but I wanted something with a little bit more grain weight behind the projectile. Anyway the Savage I got has the 4rnd box magazine. What I'd LIKE to do first and foremost is find a higher capacity magazine. 4+1 is of course fine for the range and everything else, but like most anything else, "more is better". I found this magazine on this website after somebody on FB had suggested. So I'm essentially just wondering if this, or any other larger capacity magazine is compatible with my new Savage Axis II XP platform. I hope we are allowed to leave links here on this forum. If not I apologize. But here it is....

If this IS indeed compatible with my new platform, that would be great. If not, can anyone point me in the direction of some aftermarket support for Savage Axis II's? It doesn't look like I can leave pictures here, so I'll just leave another link to the new platform.

Unfortunately, no that won’t work. Your Axis uses a proprietary Savage magazine. The link you gave provided is an ACIS platform. You would need either a different Bottom Metal, one fir AICS, or a Chassis. I believe there is a 10rd option, however I’d need to search for it. It would help if you provide a picture of which mag your Axis uses, showing the locking style.

Thanks a bunch for the reply. My firearm is still in gun jail for 9 days, so I dont unfortunately have a picture of the magazine. However this video gives and shows a good presentation of the magazine setup. Thank you for your help.

Lastly, there is this option. However, I would not recommend these. They are 3D Printed and have about a 100% failure rate. Of course, you would need to wait until one of the previous options are available. (I recommend waiting.)
