My savage scout weighs in at 9lbs with the scope and unloaded. Seems on the heavy side but I think that weight is consistent with the model. Has anyone looked at replacing the barrel with something lighter to cut weight?
Get a lighter scope for one. The 110 Scout comes in 7.5-7.7lbs unloaded. So you’re rocking an almost 2lb. scope. The barrel is 16.5”. And it’s not a Bull Barrel. So even going to a Pencil Weight barrel would net a negligible weight savings. I doubt even 1/2 pound weight.
