    Dressed up the Grendel

Had always wanted a 14" or so 6.5TCU, but never had one...about a month ago, got a new SSK 14" 6.5grendel which should scratch the 6.5-itch nicely, it arrived a bit before my carbine barrel did.

Did some digging around today & came up with a burris 2-7x, and had some nickel finished burris rings that fit on there, so decked it out, and stuck it on a frame...looks pretty good, feels pretty good, hoping it'll be agreeable to work with.

will update whenever i get it out for some testing.

That is a nice looking set up. I've been interested in the 6.5 Grendel myself. But now that I'm seeing barrels chambered in the 6mm ARC I'm torn between the two.

Bob...that one was part of an estate of TC stuff i bought, grip design kind of feels like some of the stuff i got over the years from Georgia Jim...been trying to decide if the wood
is English Walnut, or spalted maple.

I was thinking it looked like Ga. Jim's work it looks like English Walnut to me, whatever it is, it's certainly beautiful.

Nice looking setup. I agree Ga Jim does very nice work. I also have some of his handiwork and it works and looks good.

Very sharp. That's one of the many things I like about contenders. You can set 40 of them on a table and 39 of them won't look like all the others. People take pride in their firearms but contenders seam to be taken to the next level.

For the record that's African Zebra wood.

I never thought of Zebra wood as I have never seen any that was very thick. Beautiful work!

And to think there are people that don't like the look of a Contender

    I like it.

Can't wait for a range report. I'm really close to ordering a SSK barrel.
