    Cool Savage Model 160 Revelation

I'm posting here because the rimfire forum says it's for rifles manufactured 1990 or after. My rifle was manufactured in 1975. So here goes.

A month ago I bought a slightly beat up Savage Model 160 Revelation .22 rimfire. Refinished the stock and thoroughly cleaned and lubricated the required metal parts. Took it to the range and that's where the "problem" was encountered. Heck, for all I know, there is no problem; that's the way the rifle was designed to operate:

When I pull the trigger, the rifle fires; however, it will not chamber the next round until I release the trigger. If I fire and hold the trigger back, the bolt stays back until I let go of the trigger. Is this normal? Was the rifle designed that way? If not, is this a common problem? How to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

If I remember right, the Savage 87 works the same way.
