Looks like the 300 Whisper or the 300/221.

Wonder what SSK Industries are gonigt o say about it because it appears to be identical.

It is very close to the Whisper but not identical. I think you can use 300 Whisper ammo in the 300 Blackout chamber, but not vice versa.

Remington is making factory ammo for the 300 Blackout now.

do you have the 300blk reamer, or the conversion reamer for the 300-221?
Based upon what I have read from posts by rsilvers at quarterbore.net, silencertalk& silencerresearch.com the throat of the 300blk is slightly different than the 300Whisper kinda like the difference between the 5.56& the 223, you can run into some pressure issues if not careful. also the 300whisper was designed for expanded 221 brass, so if you make your brass from 223 you need to turn the necks, the 300-221, generally has a no turn neck, but the throat issue remains.

    Re: AAC 300 Blackout Barrel

    Kind of related.

Here are a few pictures of my Savage built to shoot the 7.62x25 Tokarev.

The reason for the Tokarev and not the 300 Whisper? Because I planned on only shooting subsonic and in that case the Tokarev has enough case capacity to do that and do it well. The 300 Whisper would be able to push heavier bullets faster than the Tokarev but I wasn't looking for that. Also, everything needed to build and reload for the Tokarev is cheaper, dies, brass, reamer is easier to find. The Tokarev uses a .308 bore so common bullets can also be used.

Using pistol powders in a rifle length barrel I was able to get loads that were as quiet as a subsonic 22 lr out of a 16" 10/22. This was without a suppressor using my 24.5" barreled gun. My recent build had a 16" barrel so it is a little louder but still quieter than a subsonic 22lr out of a pistol and 9mm out of a rifle. My pet load is 8.4 grains of 3N38 over a 180 grain Sierra spitzer and Remington 6 1/2 primers. It turned out to be a 1/2 MOA shooter.

And finally the biggest reason I used the Tokarev, in a pinch I can shoot factory or suplus ammo for CHEAP. The last case of surplus I bought cost me $119 to my door for 1440 rounds. Now surplus ammo wasn't super accurate but it was still capable of 1" at 25 yards.

I have literally fired probably 2000+ Tokarev rounds between all my Tokarev's until I sold all my Tokarev stuff to fund other projects.

My recent build wears a tensioned barrel although I normally thin the barrels a bit more than this one. Depending on caliber I so,etimes go very thin like on rimfires.

The barrel is machined concentric to the bore then a sleeve put over it and the tensioning nut tightened. This slightly stretches the barrel. You could measure the difference between loose and tight on the longer 24.5" barrel I tensioned. I tension barrels with sleeves because it seems to help with accuracy as well as keep the weight down at the same time. The barrels seem to be a bit more consistent with a wider variety of ammo than without the sleeve. I also used the tensioning to fix heat related drift problems on other guns I have had.

    180 grain HotCor bullet
    168 grain SMK
    180 Sierra Spitzer
