Rumor is 400$
Over the 30 past years it seems the Frames had a small edge in price over the barrels as far as factory goes. At gun shows I was buying new SS frames for under $200 and new factory pistol barrels at around $150/$175. I would think in todays world you would be looking at around $400 to $500 for each for a custom from SSK. Maybe save a few bucks if buying a complete set up.
Rumor is 400$
I would be a buyer for at least one at $400.
My fear is it will be around $600-$800 each. I'm not a buyer at that price.

I'm just not sure of the market. Seems to me that the interest in Contenders has been shrinking. Thompson Center along with S&W giving it up says a lot. Now SSK? That is if it ever happens.
The market is small and it hurts itself when the customer can swap stuff around vs buying a new one.
I imagine it will be short lived even if they do produce them.
nosler on the other hand has made more bolt action pistols than they thought they would. But that’s a whole different class of firearm.
tc stuff in its day was pretty cheap compared to other hunting type handguns. I think those days are over….it won’t survive long at a higher price.
Hope its not over $400. You can get the CVA pistol for that or less. The contender has been more expensive than the CVA though and a good bit more recently. My two new grip sets are patiently waiting as nothing can be done but wait. $350 sounds better for a bare frame. Seems like nothing is reasonable anymore though and may get worse before it gets better.
Hopefully they will be priced below the insane current used market on TC frames. And help drive those prices down.
The question is whether there is enough market for them to be able to keep the price down.
maybe with a small manufacturer, that doesn’t have the pressure to constantly maximize profits & shareholder value, they can sell them at reasonable price and still be profitable. SSK isn’t doing this as a hobby.

What’s it say Jules, it’s not clear on my phone?
Email from Marty
You may or may not have seen Dave Fricke's (SSK Firearms) post on their Facebook page on February 26, 2023. In case you missed it, we want to share it with you here:
SSK FirearmsFirst batch of 20 receivers are going to heat treat tomorrow. Heat treat, glass bead, flat wheel grind, assembly should take 2.5 weeks. We should be at 50 units/week for a while while we refine the production flow.
Safe shooting

Enjoy Life but remember we are only practicing for something Better.
Facebook really? I will say no more…
I got this same message from Marty through an email. Hope it is happening.

stocks etc.... thank you. guess I should grab some now before they all disappear
I was in the 1st 100, iirc, and I've still not been contacted.
I’d guess at this point…….someone’s going to end up owing a lot of deposit money that was likely already spent.
from what I can find…..looks like orders started in 2019…..doesn’t seem promising at all
sure will be nice when it gets here. Lol
Waiting patiently. Didn't put down a deposit 'cause I thought something like this might happen. However, when they start selling frames after the order/deposit folks, I'm in.
Like I've been saying for what? 3 years now. I'll believe it when I see it. What happened to the 20 that were supposed to be ready in 2 weeks. I'm sure that if they were shipping anything someone would have posted a picture of one somewhere by now. I haven't seen anyone bragging about their shiny new frame. You guys seen anything?
I hope I'm on both lists. I ordered from SSK when they were announced and from Marty when I met him in Oklahoma City at the IHMSA Internationals.
