    French Contract 1907

I'm assuming it's French, at least. I put in for a letter to confirm, on the off chance that it's a Portuguese contract with replacement grips. It just arrived today, and I'm looking forward to stripping it down, cleaning it up, and making sure that everything is in order.

Very nice! Lots of history in your hands when you hold that.

Nice pistol. The lanyard ring hole identifies it as probably one of the some 36k military pistols shipped to Europe. Reportedly, most of the Portuguese pistols had the grips replaced when they were re-imported.
Be careful taking the grips off, they have a tendency to break.
