What height scope rings?

Hi all, I just purchased a Savage A17 thumbhole target rifle, and plan to put a Bushnell 3x9x40 dawn and dusk scope on it. I looked at a scope height chart and that said low height, but because of the heavy barrel it said it might require a medium. Anyone know the proper answer? I am going to use Weaver rings. Thank You.

Your Weaver rail mounts will give you a couple mm in height as well. Looking @ your scope with caps Bushnell provides 1" high rings (med) should be enough with the scope caps. Low .85" will work, issue will be scope caps or cover, ?.

If I were you, wait for the rifle & scope+ caps, measure and by rings or order 2 sets of rings from Amazon low & medium and return whichever doesn't suit your needs.
