Thanks my buddy was telling me about his I’m gonna have to start looking for one now to buy. I love old 22 rifles
Thanks boys I found a stevens 45 at the local shop! Now to wait the 3 days Illinois sucks
I love my grandads Steven’s. I still use it to dispatch trapped critters and shoot game that I don’t need scope work for. I love the feature to lock the bolt for work with low velocity loads.

I have a Ranger model 101.16 which is a Savage 6A marked for sale by Sears. It was my Dad's who is now deceased, so I don't know for sure what year it was purchased. He did work for the Sears Roebuck store in Macon, GA before WWII, so I believe he may have purchased it prior to 1940. I was born in 1946, and he had it as far back as my memory can go. I have recently refinished the stock, and will post a picture soon.
