Talking What to do with a 7mm Rem Mag donor?

Have a line on a 7mm rem mag- need this rifle like another hole in the head but it seems interesting.

Like the idea of a 6.5xx but realistically have 600 yards available consistently and have that covered.

    Maybe a big bore?

    Options, caliber/cartridge suggestions- ideas?

    Calm yourself Dave

You could do a the larger PRC in 7 or 300. At this point Matri, it is about fun. Savages are interchangeable with a mag, barrel and bolt head change max investment. So something that gets you to the reloading table and seeking your best outcome.

Not happening in this lifetime. He has built this tougher skin and has refined his euphoric disposition, along with gaining a tremendous amount of knowledge during his time on this forum if not first hand, by reading. I shake my head and smile at the same time. LOL

I turned a new in the box donor 7mm Rem to 26 Nosler a few years ago. Less than 2 boxes through the McGowen barrel and at $150 per box since I don’t load, it would be better off as a 7mm with off the shelf ammo. But it was my first build project and I learned a lot.

If I ever had a mag bolt head gun I'd turn it into a .458WM and then shoot is as a black powder cartridge gun.

You could do either of the 375's or a 458.

Yeah need it like another hole in the head. I'm in IA with its stupid regs on hunting so makes things difficult.

Just converted my pre-66 7mm mag to 7x57 Mauser. I am over magnumitis. Works great, feeds perfectly and as a bonus I found it will hold 5 rounds not 4 in the magazine and still feeds great.
