Hello from South TX. My name is Massey and I currently I have what I think is an older 93r17 BV, an A17, 11BTH in 22-250 (primary hunting rifle) and an Axis 6.5 Creed. The Axis is the only one without the Accutrigger but I did install an MCarbo trigger kit.

I found this site when trying to age my bolt action 17 hmr. It was the first Savage I bought and I do remember buying it at Cabela's years ago. The trigger is why I bought more Savage rifles. On this site I've learned that my 17 is an older model as the barrel is the same diameter as the receiver for about four inches (beyond receiver) then drops to a .80" bull barrel. I was hoping to determine a year but it doesn't look like Savage serial numbers correlate to production year? A little more research on this site should help me figure it out.
