I learned of this probably a decade ago, and it’s only become worse in our online consumed world. Even this article is several years old. People who review things without ever buying merchandise or taking part in whatever is being sold. They are the “Self Appointed Brand Managers”, and they account for every 1 in 15 consumers! (That’s considerable). I’ve actually caught people in this on Gun Forums.
