Generally speaking, the 223, 308, etc. are short action calibers, and 30-06, 270, etc. are long action calibers. Savage did produce modified long action 110s in the 80s that were chambered for short action calibers.
Have been under the impression that all 110s are long actions. Then have read where .223 is a short action caliber. Is my 110 in .223 long or short action? How to tell with a rifle? Thanks all.

Measure the distance between the action screws.
Jim did a great job posting this Article, which explains everything about different length Actions Savage made. Quite detailed. https://www.savageshooters.com/conte...Action-Lengths
I recommend for everyone to read through the Centerfire FAQS page here. A ton of good information.
