Welcome Tex
New to the forum, long time Savage owner.
I have owned many Savage rifles and passed on a few to new owners (family members).
My favorites are my 6BR, my 12 F/TR in 223 and my 12 F/tr in 308.
Waiting for Savage to build a 30 BR.
I do not shoot competitively, except against friends at our home range. Steels targets set in a line all at 500 yards. Targets range from a 16" gong, a 12" gong, two 10" gongs, and 8", 6" 4" 3", 2" and a 1" target.
Fun part is having to herd the cattle over to the other pasture while we are shooting.
Welcome Tex
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Partner!? Dave are you a Arizonan/Texan/Pennsylvanian? Wait. We say Padna
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
LOL! Picked that up from my dad. He was a country-fide, Pennsyl-tucky Vietnam Marine! Called guys “partner” from time I can remember. As for me.. I don’t know. I’ve lived in suburbs all my life. To inner city folk, I sound country….. to rural country folk, I sound city. I think I just sound like… ME.
Oh.. and the Ghetto-Fabulous derivative “Padna”, as you’ve heard in movies; spoken by degenerate, ghetto, punk-ass baby-daddy’s…. Or whatever the Hood Rat female they are with refer to them as…. Has NEVER been part of my vocabulary.
What part of central Texas? I live in Bell county.
