    new to forum and need help with a 12ga. Savage based on the A-5 design


    A friend gave me his Savage 12ga semi-auto to look at. The action is frozen and he told me, do what you need to do and see if you can get it to work. He was going to destroy it and I stopped him. I have experience in handguns and some long guns but nothing in the area of this type weapon. I'm trying to find instructions to help guide me through the breaking down of the receiver group. There are no model or serial numbers on this thing.
    Anyone have any suggestions where I should look for some assistance? He doesn't have the money to go to a smith for help.

    Could be a Savage model 720, 755, etc, somewhere in those models, there were about 4 different sub models all with the same actions and minor adjustments or small parts that changed the model I.D.

    Should be able to find an exploded view at Numrichs to help you through it.
