Ebay?

I have called all the usual suspects (Brownells, midway, etc., etc,) trying to find a sear for my savage model 110. It's the one with the bolt release on the side, and I don't know whether to call it a side or top, or what. I'm getting pretty desperate and hope someone knows where one is. I called Savage and they just tell me it was made before 1995 and they don't have any parts for it.
By the way, I searched on the site but all the posts are pretty old.
Ebay?

tried ebay and Amazon, no luck. but thanks for the suggestion.
My understanding is that Savage won't sell parts for use on firearms made before 1995; doesn't mean they don't have compatible parts to sell. I suspect it's a liability thing but cannot figure what it is. I believe you can order a post-1995 top/side bolt-release sear through a gunsmith that will fit your earlier model assuming it's not a *very* early model.
Although I've read that Savage stopped selling parts to lay people, I've also read that it depends on which customer service rep you talk to and you might have to sign a waiver. As a "Hail Mary," confirm the part number with a gunsmith and try ordering one from Savage using a post-1995 SN from a top/side release 110.
I have a Gunsmith friend. I'll talk to him and see if he can call savage. Thanks for the heads-up.
A wanted add for a sear may produce one from one of the guys who went with the hard triggers.
Numrich used to stock them. I probably have a few hanging around.
Let me see what I can dig up.

mine looks like this:
I TRIED TO POST A PICTURE OF MINE. DIDN'T WORK.
These are tougher to find than "Hen's Teeth", so let me think about whether I'm willing to part with one.

finally found the post on how to do it. Thanks.
I'm gonna let you have one. Silver or blued?
PM me your info and I'll send you a blued one. I don't want any $$$.
I'm 60 and probably never going to need the sear anyway. Just happy to help out a fellow shooter here and spread some goodwill.
