    Finally back on it!

So much has been happening since December, I haven’t been doing much on my Cerekote project. (See this thread: https://www.savageshooters.com/showt...rakote-at-HOME ) But I finally started back with it. I’m posting here since it’s the Action I started with. My little home sand blast set up puts a nice etch on it I think.I don’t have a blast cabinet. I just got a BIG plastic container from Home Depot, and I have a bunch of old mirror glass panels that I used to line & protect the plastic. Really don’t lose all that much media...and whatever goes on the floor, I just sweep up & sift. This was about 80PSI, which is what Cerakote recs. on steel. Still have to do the barrel, B. Nut, recoil lug & bolt sleeve. Luckily, my new Mirage Chassis is in the white and already etched. I’m very happy with this etch using 100grit Aluminum Oxide media.

Might want to hold off until you see how my Cerakote job turns out, HAHA! This’ll be my first Cerakote venture.

Very nice. I hope mine comes out close to as nice. I’m doing the barreled Action & Bolt body in Armor Black. The Mirage Chassis is going to be Tactical Gray.

Oh, I don’t think there be much a chance of ME not posting pictures of my endeavors in firearms. And being that besides, from the very little bit of time I am able to muster to this hobby, I am mostly confined to my living room sofa in crippling pain, this forum being my outlet. I’m on here just about 24/7 after all, LOL!

BTW, just for case in point... here is the center section of my new Mirage URL to be sprayed in the Tactical Gray Cerakote. I was epoxy bedding the spacer I made as forward “STOP” against the recoil lug. And aluminum stop in place of bedding.

Your action looks good. Years ago a friend and I did Parkerizing and went the whole route with blast cabinet and stainless steel tanks. It was a lot of fun....and work. I've been meaning to try Ceracote.
