My 24H-DL has just 1 firing pin spring, on the upper barrel only, the rifle barrel.
Every parts breakdown I have seen shows 2 springs - one on each pin.
Someone has suggested that in fact, there is/was no spring on the shotgun firing pin. The pin is pushed back into the action by the closing of the barrel.
It seems to work just fine but is this correct?
Seems it varied depending on model and when it was made.

Also, here's a schematic only showing one for the rifle firing pin.

Guess the real question would be did the shotgun barrel go bang w/o a firing pin spring before you tore into it? If so I wouldn't worry about putting one in.
