    .17HMR Snap Caps?

Can someone recommend a good one and where to acquire them? Thanks in advance.

For those that might be interested, feedback from other sites has revealed that shooters use spent brass. Also, on Amazon, Carlson has a package of six snap caps for 14.00. Believe I`m going the spent brass route. Whatever`s used, you have to rotate the round/snap cap because the edges get beat up with repeated use.

Hi Turkeytider, I've never bought Carlson's caps but the 'Blue ones' (also on amazon) specifically say NOT for dry firing. The Carlson ones may be a 'softer' alloy of aluminum, but I'd vote as you are - use fired brass. I bought some of the Tipton red plastic ones a while ago and they only are good for 6-10 shots then the rim falls apart and they get stuck in your chamber. I've got 6-.22s on the go and save lots of 'old brass' for that. And also made brass rivets for an old carbon steel butcher knife ;-)
