    338 Edge reloading dies

I know I have seen it, but I am unable to find the info on 338 Edge dies.

Are die sets available, or what die/seater do you use?

Have you checked Midway, Midsouth Shooter Supply or Graf and Sons?

338 RUM dies work for partial sizing and seating and you can take the guts out of a 375 RUM FL die and use it as a body die. Shawn Carlock usually has dies in stock also if you want actual 338 Edge dies.

I would get a redding 300 RUM ful sizing bushing die and put in a 338 bushing and you have a 338 edge die don't you? For my 25 stw I use a 7stw bushing die and a 25 size bushing and it works fine Got a 7mm 08 barrel and will just order 7mm bushings and use my 308 die cheap way to go and a good set up Fred

It looked like I was going to require 3 dies anyway, so I called Shawn and ordered my dies today!

    Thanks,

I use the 338 and 375 RUM dies. Works real slick. Best of all I only paid $55 for all.

Works best for me since I have a 338RUM as well.

So your saying take the 338 RUM die and basically neck size your brass, then take the 375 RUM FL die for FL sizing?

    What about decapping?

    Thanks, Dennis

I decap with a Lee Universal because I decap before tumbling.

You could decap with the 338RUM, all you have to do is set the stem so that it pushes the primer out just during the neck sizing.

What are the EDGE dies from Shawn at DE worth? Do you know if he can ship to Canada?

How much were the edge dies? I checked the site and it just said TBA, or was it TBD. If they aren't too crazy high I would just get some from the DE site instead of using a number of different dies.

Thanks! $100-$150 doesn't seem like too much for high quality dies.

A quick one for all you folks with the .338 Edge. Did you use a 300 RUM headspace gauge, or did you have to use a special 338-300 gauge? I see both on the Midway site, but have a 300 RUM available to me so I don't want to order some thing I really don't need. Thanks!

    Re: 338 Edge reloading dies

As usual, I set mine from fired and sized brass. My brass was fired 300RUM brass.

The 300RUM gauge should work just fine.

    This makes sense!

then take the 375 RUM FL die for FL sizing
My question: Why the 375 FL die for FL sizing if you started with a 300 RUM case?

I seems the first quote would cover the process in one step!

    Re: 338 Edge reloading dies

It won't work. The neck opening on the 300RUM bushing die is too small. It would have to be reamed out.

If you're set on bushing dies, you might as well buy the Edge dies from Carlock.
