    Aftermarket barrel for new project.

    Hi

to make it short i start a new long range target. i have an savage action from a 10fp mounted on my HS-precision stock and i need a new barrel. the caliber will be 300wsm....i want to stay in short action(because i have a short action at home) and i want a 5R or something else but no 6 groove.

So anyone have experience in 300wsm? my current gun have a lilja barrel(.308win), but i want to see what you guys thinking, maybe you aware of new product more appropriate for this caliber and have advice for me.

    thanks
    kev

You could get a rock creek barrel from me with 5r rifeling, and the 300 wsm is a great round

I ordered a McGowan stainless steel match barrel that arrived just four weeks after placing the order. I know shilen said they were 5 months behind.

    Kev,
You may want to look at the Criterion Barrels. The 30 Cal blanks are all 4 groove barrels. This would give you the something different at a very attractive pricing. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

I'm pretty interested in Rock creek barrel AMU and also Schneider and they'r 5P(polygonal rifling, non conventional) so now i'm doing my homework by looking to review and maybe email them for more infos. Sinman have have you tried those barrel(rock creek) at long range(600 yard and over)?

I myself haven't had a chance to shoot one that far but I know over at sniper's hide they have a huge following on the rock barrels.

A friend of mine has a Rock Creek 308 barrel on a 700 action in an Accuracy International chassis. He's told me that this rifle is a well under MOA to 1000. Shoots .2 and .3 at 100

Rock Creek barrels are lights out. 260AI now and 308 before. Both shoot very tiny holes with low ES and SD.
