You replaced it already & now it won’t extract? If that’s the case, I doubt another will fix it.
On the other hand, if you are asking where to buy, because it hasn’t yet been done, better to do a new extractor with an over sized bearing ball. A .140” ball works perfectly. Can find 9/64” steel balls, or a 3.5mm works well also. I use the Silicon Nitride 3.5mm bearing balls from Amazon.
Here’s the full kit. https://www.gunshack.com/savage-part...head-parts-kit
Brownells has the just the Extractor. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...prod12817.aspx
I need to make this a little clearer. I have a savage in 308 that I had to replace the extractor and ball on. Now my savage in 6.5 CM is not extracting spent cases. I wanted the bigger ball set and not an original sized extractor and ball. I believe the ball that works is a .940 size ball. Is that correct?
Yes... .140” or 9/64”. 3.5mm also works quite well at just under .138”.
These are the standard 9/64” https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Precis...245942&sr=8-18
These work well, 3.5mm Tungsten Carbide. https://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Tungste...9245738&sr=8-3
These are what I use. https://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Silicon...9246067&sr=8-6
Thanks for all of your help. never thought of just ordering bearings
FWIW: Do not be surprised if the larger bearing does not fix the issue. You may find that the ejector configuration is more the problem than the bearing.
Very possible. Texan, like WBM said...if so, my first reply listed the Extractor sold by Brownells.
Just my luck. Every place is sold out of the Kit that works.
Just get the Extractor & the larger bearing ball, it’ll be fine after.
And save a few bucks.
