What's the best way to attach a bipod?

The forend of the Impulse has just got a stud with a hole in it for attaching a sling.

Some have talked about attaching a bipod to that, but I would favor attaching a bipod into the aluminum chassis of the AccuStock.

I use Harris bipods and a bunch of my rifles. The bipod attaches to the stud then the sling attaches to the bipod.

I have put short sections of pic rail on my fore ends so I can mount an Atlas Bipod. It feels like the interface is more solid...

Thanks for the picture, I will look into that option. It does leave the rifle unmodified.

That bipod is made in your home state, you must be especially proud of it.

If I understand correctly, the legs on this bipod will fold forward, leaving a large area on the forend to place your supporting hand.

Your bipod also seems to have the ability to be used on ground that is uneven side to side. You then manually level the rifle and use that knob to freeze the left/right pivot and hold the rifle and scope level, while you focus on other things.

(A little riflescope humor there, yes I know, VERY LITTLE)

The Atlas Bipods seem very sturdy.

This was my first thought on it. A section of Picatinny would allow the bipod, to be quick to detach and attach, and could be used for other purposes, including a tripod or shooting stand. There are also Picatinny Quick-Disconnect sling cups available, to retain the sling attachment feature as well.

The Seekins SRS pic rail has a built in hole for sling mounting. I have used a quite a few of them and they are very solid.

If the sling stud goes into metal you're good to go. If it screws into wood, plastic or something without a nut on the backside they will pull through at the worst time. If it has something like an anshutz T- slot, they make good sling stud adapters. If you use something other than a harris style then looking at a a Pic or maybe a spigot is the way to go. The tactical guys like the ACRA mounts. But that crap gets stupid crazy pricewise

The sling stud on my Impulse predator is threaded into the aluminum accustock rail that runs up the forearm.
Plenty sturdy to mount a bipod or if needed, you could drill and tap another hole to mount a rail or another sling stud, like they did with the tactical models.
