VERY nice bear. Such a wide range of size in Black Bears, that ANY black bear is a keeper.
Got my first Pennsylvania Black Bear yesterday !!
A two year old sow, not big, but I'm still darn happy. Took her in Potter Co. PA.

I used to hunt near Coudersport, Ulysses actually. This will be 2 years that I don't go up. It's not what it used to be in the area we hunted. posted, leased, you name it. It's not worth the trip any more.

Congrats on the bear. Next year I will be going out for my first bear hunt.
Very cool! Nice bear.
Finally got my bear back tonight. I labored for quite a long time trying to decide on a full or 3/4 mount, decided on 3/4 monut. Then hurricane Irene flooded our downstairs. While we waiting on Ins co. delays and reconstruction......the taxidermist was good about holding onto it for me.
Aside from being my first PA bear, it turned out to also be the last day I hunted with my father-in-law. He passed away this past Oct, making this bear that much more special.
