    optimum barrel length and twist

Pac-Nor can make you a forty inch long barrel, but a 32 inch long one works OK.

Twists of 16 or 14 inches are traditional.

Have used 13 and 12 inch twists too.

All will work with the original 48 grain WW softpoint.

If you find 32 inch too long for hunting...

    Thirty inch might work.

    Re: 220 swift

LOL i get it now! Yeah thinkin the 26 inch 12 twist is the route im gunna take. Still deciding on contour. Other thing is would this round feed better from a stagger or center feed magazine? Reason im asking is some say because of the rim on the case may have feeding problems for a repeater, and i def want a repeater i believe.

You just have to watch how you load it, so the top rim is ahead of the one under it. Never have had an issue at any time with any I have had, Savage or Rem.

The cowboys who double as gun bearers have never complained about carrying rifles.

    .

Each prairie dog rifle can be mounted on a caisson drawn by four Shetland ponies.

You can then make a formation appropriate for the attack on the prairie dog town.

Keep in mind that only fixed-power scopes with external windage and elevation adjustments in the mounts are suitable for Swifts.
