How the hell do you remove the bolt from the receiver on a Savage 110??

I got this new Savage 110 in 6.5 PRC a couple of days ago and I wanted to pull the bolt but it just won't come out.

I ASSUME that you pull it back while pressing down on the small lever on the side but it wont budge. I even pull the trigger at the same time and it wont back out of the receiver...

What am I missing?

Sounds like You have a top bolt release? Pull the trigger. Push the top bolt release all the way down. Let go of the trigger, while holding the release down, slide the bolt back and out.

I had one that drove me to an extra cold one..... The inlet on a stock was off just
enough to not let the top lever to fully depress. A little dremel work was needed.

Make sure the safety is in the fire position. This happened to me the other day. I was trying to remove my bolt and couldn't get it to release, and forgot I had the safety in the middle position.

I recently disassembled the bolt from my 110T LH rifle. I found two wave washers between the bolt head and the front baffle. Does anyone know why it would be like this??? I have not been able to find any info that showed more than one washer.

That way from new? Was/is it working like it's suppose to? Put there on purpose OR picked up by mistake when assembled. Who knows.
Don't go looking for trouble. If it works, "don't fix it if it ain't broke".

Since no one I know has ever seen this and the rifle is new. My guess is that it was an accident. The only thing it will do is create more pressure between the baffle and the bolthead. Put the second washer in a safe place. If the owner is uncertain the recommendation is to call the customer service line at Savage. If it was anything other than that it would be an out of spec bolt body or baffle. In that case the assembler would throw the bad part in a bin of non conformance.

I purchased the rifle new. I fired a few rounds threw it and could hardly get them out of the chamber. Sent it back to Savage and they fixed the chamber and the receipt said “replaced small bolt parts”. It fires good now, I am still getting use to the heavy bolt lift. This was the first time that I disassembled the bolt.

Would there be any harm in removing one of the wave washers?
Does anyone have drawings for these bolts so that I could check the dimensions?
