I agree, Rs are over-rated. But I've done your 'mods' years ago, and find the Marlins are still more accurate tho twice the cost. I've got better 22s but still love the 64 for what it is. And the B22 is even more accurate. Havn't tried the A22 yet ;-(

They shoot better than this? I don’t really want to buy a $300 .22 or a $200 either really out of principal because I can do the same thing with my $120 .22 as I could the $300 one. My first Model 64 lasted over twenty years so I got my $100’s worth out of it. I bought a Rossi RS22 the other day but I hadn’t shot it yet. I’m going to leave the “iron sights” on it.
But anywho, why spend $300 when the “cheap one” shoots like this even with “cheap” ammo. Not one feeding or ejection or failure to fire problems either.

Here's my comment from YT - "Yes, with a 4x scope that's pretty good. At :05 we see a 3" group of about 10 shots and at about :30 we see about 2" (a shot off the left edge of the cb) group of about 5. If you try some better ammo like CCI-SV OR even Fed Champion SV you could do better. I can get 1" to 3/4" with CCI or SK+, but I've got a 6-24x50 scope."
And yes, my B22 and Marlin both do better than my 64. I got them 'cause 3" doesn't make me happy!

UPDATE 5-10-2022 : 'Sometime' ? after I posted this msg on July-05-2021, the "Comments" were "Turned OFF " of the YT Vid. I guess BRM doesn't like criticism . . . ? And 3" STILL Doesn't Make Me HAPPY!!

Love the Aguila Super Extra ammo. Cant wait to get some again... someday.

I've got a 62f as a Father's Day gift. It's my first .22 and my first Savage. I was so impressed with it's fit and shootiness, when my son told me to pick out a new gun for my birthday, I got a Savage 110 in .308 to replace my Sub MOA shooting Mossberg Patriot. Yes the 110 is even MORE sub MOA.
