Neither of you are too old to see iron sights.
Not so! But I can still do well with a receiver mounted aperture sight. A fuzzy front bead or blade though an aperture is not nearly as bad as one in a fuzzier notch.
I put tang sights on most of my lever guns, old classics deserve proper sights!! Makes shooting a little more fun, too!! I also wear multi focal contacs so vision is not a problem.
I don't hunt anymore but all my hunting rifles are scoped.
