I bought Savage bolt head kit and 223 bolt head. I found the detent ball is 3.94mm and it won't fit. I checked my 6.5 CM bolt detent ball, that's 3.15mm. See pictures.

The bore for the extractor detent measures 3.81mm or .150". Most people use a 9/64"(.140") ball when upgrading the detent. The OEM is a .125 ball. At least the ones I have measured. Apparently Gun Shack messed up. I would give them a call first.
You bought the kit for improved extraction, I would not settle for the factory one. I have some 9/64ths if Gun Shack will not make it right.

Thank you so much for your offer.
I did contact them, but nobody cares.
Did you send them a picture? I don't understand if they don't care. We can fix that.Thank you so much for your offer.

I hope I didn't hurt you feeling by posting a different opinion. I simply wanted to offer some information in addition to yours.

I didn't send the picture, but told them the ball OD that not fit. Also contact them from its website. Nobody responded. Thanks for your offer. I'll order some online.
They are a site sponsor and a lot of people on this site buy their Savage stuff.

Local bicycle shop, plastic bag, caliper to measure for the size you need, pocket magnet and a couple of $$ will get you what you need. Balls used for bike axle bearings.
Oz never gave nothing to the Tin Man, that he didn't already have.
