    Model 40 22 hornet extractor.

I have a model 40 22 Hornet with a broken extractor. I have searched everywhere for another. Savage says not available as the gun has been out of production. Internet searching I found nothing. So I guess they are not available. So I'm stuck with a gun that I have to pry the brass out of the chamber after every shot. Really like the gun but this takes most of the fun away. Is there any other part out there from another gun that might work? I know I'm grasping at straws here but if there is any solution to this I would be grateful. Really frustrating to not be able to get something as simple as a extractor. Any help greatly appreciated.

Left or right extractor is broken?
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
