Model 99 .308 rebuild - Help with the hammer please

Hello all, I was recently given a 1957 Savage model 99 in .308 with the brass rotating magazine, it was used as a display rifle at a local gun range. I exressed an interest in it and the range master gave it to me. The firing pin, hammer and spring had been taken out and a shell casing had been gorilla glued into the chamber so it could never be fired. Long story short, it took a while but I've got it all cleaned up and now I'm looking for the interior parts. I've found the main spring and the hammer bushing, but apprently, there are two different types of hammers used on this rifle and since mine was missing, I have no idea whether the hammer was the kind that was threaded or if it wasn't. How can I know which hammer to buy for this gun? I need the hammer, the hammer bushing (ordered) the main spring (ordered) the firing pin and the firing pin securing pin. Any help would be appreciated - Scott

Can you research the version. That will tell you what hammer you have.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
