Should not affect a thing. I'd put the stop nut on it and drop it into the head and see if it slides smoothly, then assemble the bolt body sans the firing pin spring and check it for smoothness again. There's only two points of contact for the firing pin, the bolt head and the cocking nut.
I bought 6 the last time I needed one, just to cherry pick the best. Were you able to buy it direct from Savage, or did you have to go through a gunsmith?
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.
