nice buck sure looks like you had the right help
Wish I had an amazing story, but as it stands, he walked up within 35 yards, and I put 180 grains into the boiler room

Of course he ran downhill through a fresh clear cut, but luckily the loggers were there to help the extrication:

Was lucky that they were so willing to help.
It would have been a time getting him up the hill over all those logs and limbs.
I shot 2 hogs once that were over 350 pounds just up the road was some men with a back hoe that loaded them in my pickup for me.
I probably could have made it with the farm tractor, but I would have had to take the long way around to get there. We have a bucket on the front to facilitate loading.
Nice Buck there Bro! I hope to have some pictures like that tomorrow night!

Thanks Ed.
Been spending all my time now taking the kids out and scouting for the "high-probability" areas, for my girl to put her 410 to use.
Logging a lot of boot leather miles in the process. Been losing weight. :D
Seen a few more bucks since, so apparently, killing this one allowed the others to become more "saucy".
Rut's in full tilt here.
Did you get his brother?
Nope, but I got a good meat buck this morning. He was a healthy young buck, 5 x3 with a broken main beam. The brute did not show up today so I shot the one that did. We only get one buck here so now it's doe season!
