    Gun Bluing

Just restored a Savage 6jdl, I dont care for the finish. All the bluing I got, hopps, birchwood, the basic kits, was more of a black finish, I have guns with basically an actual dark blue, is there a such thing or are we stuck with the black\blue finish? I would love to torch blue the guns but i am hesitant of heating guns.

I blued many guns with this: BROWNELLS DICROPAN "IM"® | Brownells

All you need is a pan of hot water and a carding wheel. Some of the guns I blued over thirty years ago and they still look great. All that other stuff isn't much better than using a Sharpie!!
